Postjam update and a sequel announcement?
Hai, how's going?
As you may remember, i've joined a gamejam months ago where I had to make a game within 4 days, with health mechanics as a theme.
Of course, with 4 days, you have too little time to polish most mechanics.
So, i've decided to make a postjam update back in august. Here are some (not all) of the changes i've did:
* Improved animations to all characters and guns.
* Improved textures details and added ceiling texture to levels.
* Expanded OST length.
* Skill levels are now programmed within the game, instead of using separate launchers.
* Added secret plushies that would modify game behaviour.
* Fixed a major game crash while loading the credits.
Amongst other things that are not mentioned here...
Yeah, this is a minor recordatory, in case you played the original jam, but not the update a month later.
So, I think i can say now that there are no plans to make an update to geohitman1, as this project has already far exceded my original expectations.
With that on mind, yeah, just wanted to mention that I am also working on a sequel!
Geohitman2, played as a different character (Chester, which was namedropped twice on geo1), with new guns and upgrades for each gun, new levels, new songs and even more monsters!
And if that wasn't enough, you'll even be able to play the original geo1 campaign as a newgame+ option, once you completed the game.
And healthdrain mechanic is no longer implemented, therefore monsters will be more agressive!
Since healthdrain is not implemented, levels will be more focused towards exploraton, therefore, levels will be way larger and complex than original geohitman1.
And upgrades will now cost money, so you will be collecting coins throughout the levels, so you can unlock the upgrade at later levels =P
And that just to name few of the major changes geohitman2 will have...
Now, you may ask: When do geohitman2 will be released? Well, i don't know XD
That being said, the full campaign is fully playable and everything is done!
I'm still working on cutscenes and part of the story though, so I feel like it would be sometime within the next 3 months.
There will be private tests within my discord servers and some people I know, to see how things are going.
Aaaaanyways, I hope you enjoy geohitman1 update, while you wait for geohitman2.
